Jennifer works with parents, couples, young adults, adolescents and children, helping them learn tools to manage emotions, become more present and calm, improve relationships, feel more in control of their life, communicate more effectively, experience more confidence, resolve conflict, move forward with goals, and live life with more acceptance and joy.
Through her work with students and families as a counselor in a school setting for almost 10 years, Jennifer has had the opportunity to gather data about what interventions are most effective and truly support lasting change.
As a provider for programs like SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), Jennifer supports parents to learn how powerful they can be in their contribution to overcoming their children’s anxiety. As a certified Positive Discipline Parenting and Classroom Classroom Educator. Jennifer offers psychoeducation and strategies that enable parents to co-create a more harmonious and cooperative home environment.
Jennifer has worked with hundreds of children and adolescents to support them to better manage anxiety, cope with sadness, and learn focus, self regulation and calming strategies. She commonly uses tools such as reframing thinking, mindfulness, brain science education, growth mindset, building distress tolerance/exposure and learning to cope with non-preferred tasks. These strategies are delivered through various modalities including conversation, activities, videos, stories, games, and other active engagement. When working with children, Jennifer includes the parents in the treatment plan, to provide psychoeducation and offer other supportive tools to accelerate their child’s success.
In her work with couples, on their journey to reconnect or to disconnect (such as co-parenting through divorce), Jennifer includes skill building in non-violent and compassionate communication and conflict resolution.
